In sewing or fashion design, patterns are pieces of paper which are prototypes of clothing parts or sewing products. This pattern is used as an example so there is no error when cutting fabric. In addition to using homemade patterns, people can sew at home using a finished pattern (a finished pattern) published by women's magazines.

When making clothes, the pattern is adjusted to the size of the body shape and clothing model. For clothing that is sewn according to order, before the pattern is made, certain parts of the wearer's body are measured one by one with a measuring tape. Skirts from an archetype, for example, can only be equipped with a zipper behind, but do not have a model, folds, or wrinkles. When made, the size of an archetype is adjusted to the user's body size or used by a standard body size (S, M, L) for men, women, or children.

In essence, the pattern that has been made will be a reference in making clothes so that there are no mistakes in its manufacture, especially during the fabric cutting process.

Actually, although without a pattern, clothes can still be made but sometimes the results obtained are not as expected.
